Volunteer Training Sessions
City Fields is a learning experience for most of our volunteers. Although some have come from an agricultural background, most have not. That means that the whole process of planting and harvesting crops and getting them to market is brand new territory. And that’s why each month we ask our new volunteers to attend three basic training sessions on these topics.
Steve Williams, our agriculture specialist, leads these sessions on Planting 101, Harvesting 101 and Farm-to-Market 101.
Don’t think that because the topics are “basic” that means “dull.” Steve is an engaging presenter, and he makes his topics “come alive” – just like the crops he plants! To be a part of the sessions, just register in the office or give us a call.
